Compassionate Consumers

My parents were busy with their business of buying and repairing used servers. My father had taken computer classes as soon as computer were introduced and he now knows the insides and outs of pretty much every brand of server ever made. The newer ones are constantly changing but the older used servers are easy for him to fix.

My father spends most of the day out in his shop fixing used poweredge servers and other brands while my mother is the person who puts them on the internet and loads the information about them for people to see. They have been supporting themselves this way, for about ten years. I have always gotten great deals on used servers for my friends from my parents.

I myself was able to get some used poweredge servers for my own company for just the cost of parts and the shipping and handling of having them sent to me. I was very happy with that, since it actually saved me about five thousand dollars from what any other company that sold used servers would have charged me.

Also, whenever I have an issue with one of them, I can always just call my dad and he flies out to fix them and also gets to visit with me and my family at the same time.

My sister was interested in running a business from home and I knew of a really good website that sold used proliant servers for good prices. All my sister would have to do is to add ten percent to the price and the only thing she would be doing was buying the used proliant servers and reselling them for a small profit. There were a few of my friends from high school, that still lived in town and we had all been on the team then. I made a few phone calls and told them all about the Scottsdale coed volleyball leagues that were starting up and asked if they wanted to join my team. Out of the ten girls that I called, I got six of them to say yes and I was on my way to having a team.

We only needed a few more players to make up our team and so I contacted the woman in charge of referring the players who did not have a team to those that needed more players. By the end of the week, we had our team, scheduled our first practice and ordered our t shirts for our first game which was quickly approaching.

My son was old enough to order his new footed pajamas from the boy pajamas section instead of the toddler one. I was excited to see that there was more of a variety in this section and that he could finally start to get the footed pajamas with the characters and cars on them like he wanted. In the toddler section, the boys pajamas were all either plain or had some really babyish characters on them that my son was not into anymore.

I told him to pick out four different footed pajamas that he really liked and was happy to see that they had his size in all of them but one. I told him that I would look online to find him that particular one and would not stop looking until I found it.

I had to spend about three hours online checking every store that sold the footed pajamas and trying to find the one set that my son had been promised. I knew that he would never forget that I had told him that I would find them. Therefore when I was just about ready to stop looking for the day, I was so happy to find them on the very last site that I had the patience to sit there and look at.

My first job three years ago when I was just out of college was to make sure that my father’s company had all the office supplies that they needed at all times. This job was not as easy as it seemed. I had to stay up on all the prices from all the area office supply houses and if someone offered lower prices on just one item, then I had to order it from them. Even if ninety nine percent of the order was coming from the usual company, the cheaper item would have to be bought from the one who had the best price.

There were so many different offices in the building that my father ran, that I had to check in many times a day with each of them to see that their office supply closets were full. At any time, one of them might have a big report or sale that had come in and the copy paper could go quickly. Every day was an adventure when I had my office supply order girl job. I miss it sometimes when I am working a big case but I do not miss the pay. My father paid me minimum wage, he said that it was to make me appreciate a real paying job when I found one.

After having several failing attempts at being a blogger for a living I was back working at my old company and not liking it one bit. I know that failure is sometimes part of the game but I did not like being where I was and wanted the success sooner than later.

I started researching marketing gurus like Danny DeMichele and others to try and get the upper hand on my online competition. I put forth a lot more effort than I did the previous few times and I knew this time that it was going to pay off.

The Danny DeMichele readings mentioned not doing some stuff that I had actually tried. It sure would have been nice to have read that in the first place. I guess sometimes I have to learn things the hard way. It was encouraging though to read a guy’s article that said do not do that and proclaiming that it would not work. Since I had been there and done that, I knew he was correct.

This encouraged me to subscribe to his writings and read what else he was saying. I am ready to restart my online ventures because this time I am more prepared and ready for a good fight.

I read a good article in a life magazine about the importance of term life insurance and how it can help you in a time of uncertainty. The article was written be a retired life insurance salesmen that had seen witnessed countless cases of people going through a tragedy without having adequate coverage or none at all.

There was one family he mentioned that had no medical exam life insurance and it was the saving grace of a terrible circumstance. When someone you love passes on, you have to wonder what happens next. If they are a sole provider for your family this can cause an unlimited amount of financial hardship.

The article was good at pointing out things that you do not realize happens if you are in this situation. Just the average funeral costs are through the roof and can devastate an unprepared family that is still getting over the loss of a loved one.

Just by having a good term life insurance policy in place can help you through such a tough time. At least the financial burden will not be there so you can move on with your life. The article really opened my eyes to the importance of term life insurance and how we should all have it in place for our family.

I was hoping to get all of the calls out of the way that I need to make this morning. I had a list of ten different firms to contact to help restore my good client’s reputation. I did not want them thinking that I did not have faith in them but I knew that this was really important; to fight with everything you have when the news first hits.
