Check HSPF before buying a Heat Pump
Home and Garden November 7th, 2008HSPF stands for heating seasonal performance factor. This HSPF is used to measure the performance of a heat pump. Heat pump is considered as a good replacement for air conditioning units. Though, these pumps cost a bit higher than the air conditioning ones a heat pump is useful in every season.
It is an all rounder which acts air conditioning system in the summers and as a heating system in the winters. Thus most of the companies are preferring heat pumps for commercial air conditioning products. But one single question that might raise here is if heat pumps so efficient then why they aren’t used through out the world.
Heat pumps are considered to be the best in the tropical regions of the world is due to the fact that heat pumps don’t generate heat or cold they just transfer from source to destination. Heat pumps extract energy from a source and here the source can be anything ground, water or air. Then it transfers the energy into your room. For an instant it is very cold in your room you want your room to be a bit warm then the heat pumps extracts the heat from the ground and supplies into your rooms.
And same is done in reverse during the summer season. It mainly runs on gas or electric energy. So, how much efficient the system is, how much change it can make in the temperature of the room decided by HSPF of a heat pump. So, if you want a better working system which can bring in a higher change in temperature then go for a system with higher HSPF.
